The accolade was awarded for the company’s education programme which is aimed as a teaching resource for schools to help pupils understand the importance of adopting ‘the 3 R’s’ – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
“We are delighted with the judge’s recognition of how pioneering this programme is,” said Martin Fahey, sustainable solutions manager for the company.
“Around 44 per cent of total UK carbon emissions come from the buildings we live, work and play in, so we feel it is essential that we look for ways to increase awareness of how everyone can play their part in reducing our impact on the environment.”
