According to The Guardian, the Japanese firm will announce later this week that it’s HQ will relocate from Hamburg to North Wales despite announcing last year that it planned to reduce operations in Wrexham where it has been manufacturing for 26 years employing some 500 people.
Speaking to the newspaper, Andrew Lee, Sharp Solar UK’s general manager, said the move was designed to create a UK solar centre of excellence by combining the company’s sales functions, manufacturing, head office and laboratories.
