The one day course, held at the company’s training centre in Brighouse, has proven attractive to installers looking to capitalise on the anticipated rise in demand for electric vehicle charging stations. According to Ploughcroft, over one million extra charging points will be required by domestic and commercial users over the next 12 months.
Chris Hopkins, Ploughcroft Training’s managing director, said: “There are tremendous opportunities for professional electricians who want to be able to expand their skills and reap the benefits of new business opportunities in this area. We have had a huge response to our new electrical vehicle charging station installation courses, with many more scheduled for the coming weeks.
“We are building a network of approved installers, who will be fully certified and approved to carry out installations of Rolec’s WallPod EV charging unit. This is a potentially huge market for electrical engineers and will provide a new source of income for our installers across the country.”
