Cecil Duckworth, Kevin Lee, Richard Soper CBE and current managing director, Carl Arntzen hosted a James Bond themed evening of celebration at the Sixways stadium, home of Worcester Warriors Rugby Club, as the four Worcester stalwarts celebrated the organisation’s stability since it was formed in 1962.
Joining the four Worcester MDs were a number of those employees and industry partners, past and present, who have contributed to the success of the organisation over the last five decades.
Friday 14th September marks exactly 50 years since the company was founded in 1962 and caps off what has already been an eventful year, which has seen the company enjoy a number of commemorative activities to mark its half a century milestone.
The organisation’s success has been credited to the pure stability the business, with only four managing directors having ever been at the helm over its 50-year history.
Founder Cecil Duckworth, Kevin Lee, Richard Soper CBE and current managing director, Carl Arntzen have led Worcester’s progression from its beginnings as a pioneer of oil-fired central heating boilers through to the provider of complete heating system solutions that it is today.
Speaking at the Sixways stadium on Friday 6th September, Carl Arntzen, managing director of Worcester, Bosch Group, said: “This year has been a special one and we are extremely proud to be celebrating 50 years of business.
“What makes our golden anniversary even more rewarding is that all four managing directors of the company, both past and present, have been able to enjoy them along with their current and past colleagues, which is testament to the stability of the business over the past five decades.
“Looking ahead, we are confident that our core business of manufacturing high-efficiency condensing boilers still offers huge growth potential. We are therefore planning a significant product launch in the New Year, which will involve the introduction of our next generation of award winning Greenstar gas-fired boilers. The best boilers we have are about to get even better.
“In addition to this, we have got a fantastic opportunity to expand our current product offering through diversification too. This will involve moving into new markets and product segments that we haven’t traditionally operated in before but are well placed to do so.
“As we begin our journey to new horizons, we will stay true to the core values that have given us stability over time with a view to maintaining profitable growth into the next decade and beyond. We want to ensure that we are here to celebrate our centenary anniversary in another 50 years’ time and that we will continue to be successful over the years to come.”
