REA agrees partnership with European Biogas Association

The REA has agreed with the President of the European Biogas Association (EBA), Arthur Wellinger, to strengthen their working relationship on several key issues on a pan-European basis. The agreement was made following the EBA’s annual general meeting on 30^th January, held at the Biogas Conference and Exhibition in Leipzig, Germany.

The REA and EBA will work together on:

Indirect Land Use Criteria (ILUC)
Biomethane Injection CENTC 408
End of Waste Project for Biofertiliser and Compost
Fertiliser Directive
Energy Taxation Directive
Green Gas Certification

REA head of biogas, David Collins, said: “Many of the issues which will impact on the UK biogas sector this year, such as ILUC and End of Waste, are developing at the European level, so this partnership is very timely and will be very valuable to our members.”

EBA president, Arthur Wellinger, said: “I look forward to intensifying the collaboration with the REA to create the right conditions for the future expansion of renewable energy and organics recycling projects.”
