Lightsource has announced plans to create 100 new jobs in 2014 due to continued growth in the commercial PV sector.

Lightsource already employs 160 people and has 80 solar farms providing clean power to over 100,000 UK homes.

With 25 positions currently available, including engineers, office professionals and asset managers, the company is embarking on ‘Solar Roadshow’ as part of its recruitment drive.

Its new educational workshop and recruitment evenings are also designed to provide local landowners, farmers, businesses and residents with information on solar farms.

Nick Boyle, ceo of Lightsource Renewable Energy, said: “Solar power is one of the UK’s fastest growing industries. Our goal is to have as many people involved in this positive, low carbon sector as possible. Whether it’s benefiting from land rent, fixed price electricity or working to build the farms, there are opportunities to be part of this exciting change in the UK’s economy.”
