According to the company, the development is in response to rising demand for, and an expanding portfolio of, renewable technologies.
Vaillant has already made other recent investments in the sector including the manufacture of its own range of heat pumps, a national portfolio of training centres and the Renewables Technologies Division – a 20 strong technical aftersales team launched last year.
The seven-strong team – led by Vaillant’s commercial & renewable systems director, John Bailey – has been assembled from product and sector experts recruited from within Vaillant and externally. The team is field based, with responsibilities for both geographic areas and technology types.
The team will also be responsible for bringing new products new market.
John Bailey said: “This is an important strategic development for Vaillant and further evidence of our commitment to the renewable heating technology sector. This is a growing market, helped in part by the RHI, but also by changing attitudes and increasing confidence in the long-term viability of the technology. Our intention is to give this growth a greater impetus.”
