GSHPA’s Laura Bishop to deliver keynote speech at Evolving Cities event

The Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) chair, Laura Bishop, is set to deliver a keynote speech at the International Conference on Evolving Cities (ICEC22) in Southampton on the 14th July.

Further measures are needed to ramp up the roll-out of heat pumps across the UK, says GSHPA.

The event is being held at the University of Southampton from 12th to 15th July, and will address important issues relating to cities and the major role they can play in tackling climate crisis through infrastructure, energy, data or carbon.

ICEC22 will also discuss these topics in the content of the upcoming COP27 conference in Egypt, which seeks to drive from agreements and pledges to solid solutions and implementation on the ground, through emissions reduction, scaled-up adaptation efforts and enhanced flows of appropriate finance.

Cities consume 75% of our energy

Cities and their evolution are important as they consume around 75% of our energy with a similar value for emissions, hence impacting the environment, society and development. ICEC 2022 will debate the steps needed to propel our cities towards healthier and low carbon pathways.

The conference is a hybrid event allowing for in-person and virtual attendance with real-time filming, production and broadcast of the proceedings online through our virtual event platform.
