GSHPA hosts annual event  

Blood Cancer UK, Walking with Giants Foundation, Young Persons Advisory Service (YPAS) and The Florrie charity have all benefited from a share of over £2,500 raised by the Ground Source Heat Pump Associations (GSHPA) members at their conference and charity dinner held at the Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa, Gargrave, North Yorkshire last month. 

The one-day annual event incorporates networking opportunities and a host of speakers who present and discuss various ‘hot topics’ within the ground source and renewable energy sector. 

This year’s guests included the renowned Dr Jan Rosenow Principal and European programme director for RAP, Dr Alan Whitehead shadow minister for climate change and net zero, as well as Dr Matthew Aylott senior policy adviser, department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to name but a few.  

Overwhelmed by generosity  

The conference also received video messages of support from Patrick Harvie of the Scottish Parliament and Ed Sherriff – deputy director of energy (Welsh Government), these were played to delegates during the conference. 

The association held its annual event, which included discussion of hot topics, and also raising funds for charity.
Ricky hosts the GSHPA Charity Dinner

TV personality Ricky Tomlinson (of Royle Family fame) hosted the evening’s charity dinner that featured a live auction with TV auctioneer Steve Parkinson, live music from Viva Lucia, a drinks reception and a la dinner. 

GSHPA operations manager and organiser, Stephen Bielby, said: “We are once again overwhelmed by the generosity of our members, especially during these tough times, it’s great to see that we can make a positive difference to the lives of other people with our conference and charity dinner.”
