With the new branch making it the only national renewable energy wholesaler based in Dorset, Councillor Terry Cordery from Ferndown Town Council cut the ribbon, after a welcome speech from HDM Solar’s Managing Director, Adam Firth.
Over 50 industry guests, including renewable energy installers, were invited to look around the new 16,800 sq ft warehouse, built to hold stocks of renewable energy equipment, including items exclusive to HDM Solar. They also met with industry-leading suppliers such as Sunsynk, Rowan Energy, Solax Power, Enphase, Canadian Solar, Duracell Energy (complete with the Duracell Energy bunny!) and Mounting Systems, who travelled all the way from Germany to be at the event.
High demand
Speaking to REI, Adam commented: “Solar systems are much more efficient and cost-effective than they were when they first came to the market. For example, commercial businesses that have solar systems installed can sometimes see a return on their investment after 9 months, whereas previously it could take several years. Not only can renewable energy systems save businesses money on their energy bills, but they can also help businesses in their carbon reduction goals by producing cleaner energy.”
Adam continued: “We are delighted to open our new branch in Bournemouth, the third of 60 branches we are rolling out nationally. HDM Solar Bournemouth is one of 4 businesses created within a year by the HDM Solar group. There is a lot of demand for solar energy and EV charging equipment in the Dorset area and we are delighted to be able to support installers with a wide range of supplies and support services.”
Tayah Betambeau, Manager of the new Bournemouth branch, added: “We were delighted to see such a large turnout to our launch event. We were so lucky with the weather as it was very warm and sunny, although the Duracell Energy bunny got a little over-heated!
“The 7 members of our Bournemouth team were fantastic in helping to get everything ready. Due to demand, we will be taking on additional members to the team here in the coming weeks, including apprentices, mirroring what HDM Solar has done in their other very successful branches.”
