The UK’s first retrofit designer course, based on the PAS 2035 framework, equips learners to create precise, bespoke designs for domestic properties. curated by The Retrofit Academy and industry experts, it’s designed to enhance the skills of chartered architects, architectural technologists, chartered building surveyors, and professionals from the Chartered Institute of Building.

Leading the way in energy efficiency

Retrofit designers lead the way in creating energy-efficient homes, responsible for comprehensive project documentation and specifying materials, products, and systems. they ensure every team on a project delivers quality and effective solutions.

As the demand for sustainable building upgrades grows, the need for skilled retrofit designers increases. this new qualification aims to develop leaders to help the UK achieve its net zero target by 2050.

The Retrofit Designer qualification joins The Retrofit Academy’s accredited courses, including the Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management and the Level 4 Award in Domestic Retrofit Assessment. this is the second new course from The Retrofit Academy in 2024, following the launch of Retrofit 101 in January.

The demand for qualified retrofit design professionals isn’t slowing down and the opportunity to enter this growing industry is here for the taking.”
