Leading UK renewables distributor Segen Ltd is thrilled to announce a ground-breaking collaboration that will revolutionise solar and ESS deliveries, setting a new standard for sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Segen, a leading global wholesale distributor of Solar PV and energy storage systems, has partnered with POSTX, an AI-Logistics Platform Startup designed to plan and deliver the best experience, with zero carbon emissions. The partnership is committed to achieving zero-emission deliveries, to significantly reduce the carbon footprint associated with traditional delivery methods.

“POSTX provide a state-of-the-art electric vehicle fleet, ensuring that all deliveries are conducted without the use of fossil fuels. As part of the delivery model with POSTX we will be able to offer reliable, timed delivery slots to all our customers, with up-to-date delivery trackability,” said Mike Eaton, Operations Director at Segen, “ensuring that each delivery is not only environmentally friendly but also efficient and cost effective.”

Fully sustainable deliveries

As part of this industry exclusive, Segen & POSTX collaborated with strategic partner E.ON, on a market-leading trial. E.ON install solar & storage systems for households nationwide, and aim to become the first supplier to do so in a fully sustainable way.

All deliveries made during the trial were 100% emission-free, which resulted in reductions of between 1,752kg and 3,144kg CO2 during the trial period alone, when compared to conventional methods. POSTX’s new logistics approach allowed for 1,400% faster loading and unloading times by eliminating the need for tail lifts.

The successful trial has been shortlisted for not one but two National Sustainability Awards, which celebrate the best in industry, focusing on innovation and breadth of impact to help build a more sustainable and better future. The Partnership of the Year category celebrates the collaboration between Segen, POSTX and E.ON and the Supply Chain Initiative of the Year category highlights the positive change on the industry. Winners will be announced at the event at London Marriot Hotel on the 2nd October 2024.

“I have been working with Segen for some time on how we overcome the challenge of transporting our solar & storage products to our customers in a more sustainable way, whilst continuing to deliver the highest level of service,” said Steven Cotterill, Global Category Manager at E.ON. “The synergy we have created with Segen in bringing this piece to life has been a real win for us and outlines the benefit that a strategic partnership approach can bring. Our partnership with Segen continues to go from strength to strength, and there is additional value to unlock for both parties from other initiatives we are working on together.”

Following the successful trial, Segen is delighted to announce that POSTX deliveries will be accessible to all installer customers from September 2024.

This exciting partnership sets a new industry benchmark and embodies a shared vision of a greener, cleaner future as part of Segen’s mission of decarbonising the world – one installation at a time.
