The growth in demand for renewables across a wide range of industries is driven by factors including government targets for net zero emissions, the increasing consumer interest in sustainable solutions and rising energy costs. These influences are creating a growing market for professionals skilled in installing and servicing heat pumps, solar photovoltaic (PC) panels, and energy storage systems.
According to Climate Change Committee, between 135,000 and 725,000 net new jobs could be created by 2030 in low-carbon sectors. This signifies a large shift in the job market and a prime opportunity for businesses to embrace and grow with these changes.
Crucial for businesses to adapt their workforces
Paul Collins, NICEIC technical director, said: “The growing consumer demand for renewable technologies translates to increased business opportunities. This means that it is more crucial than ever for businesses to adapt their workforce to these needs.
“Upskilling through industry recognised qualifications and training courses ensures businesses remain up to date with the latest regulations, trends, and safety standards, which, therefore, futureproofs skillsets and makes the workforce an invaluable asset to the business.”
