Located in Essex, the Maldon BESS will enhance the flexibility and resilience of the UK electricity network, enabling more renewable energy generation.
The 40MW/40MWh Maldon BESS was constructed by Trina Storage with support from ESM Power Ltd and connected by UK Power Networks. It provides vital balancing services to the local and National Grid and has secured a long-term Capacity Market contract. The system can respond within 350ms, offering critical support for grid stability and renewable energy integration.
