Founded in 2022 by Simon Roberts and Thomas Farquhar, Heatio is gaining recognition for its innovative approach to making low-carbon technology more accessible.
The company’s smart home energy platform provides users with real-time energy insights, helping to optimise the use of smart home technologies like solar panels, heat pumps, EV chargers, and batteries.
By leveraging AI and machine learning, Heatio’s platform helps users save money, reduce reliance on the grid, and lower their environmental impact.
Securing investment and driving growth
Heatio’s recognition follows their success earlier this year at the North West regional awards, where they also won the Equity-Backed StartUp of the Year category. This award highlights the importance of strategic partnerships and substantial funding in enabling entrepreneurial businesses to grow and make a significant impact.
In 2024, Heatio successfully secured £2 million in investment through an oversubscribed investment round, led by Ascension and supported by a range of co-investors, including Conduit Connect, The Syndicate Room, Baltic Ventures, LYVA Labs, and deep tech investor Neil Norman. The round was supported by Brabners LLP.
Simon Roberts, chief executive of Heatio, said: “We are delighted to receive this national recognition amongst some other fantastic, pioneering businesses.
“The award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the whole Heatio team who are passionate about improving accessibility and incentivising the adoption of low-carbon technology in UK homes.
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our investors who continue to show us unwavering support and confidence.”
Recognising UK entrepreneurial talent
