This free course is designed for a wide audience, including existing heating engineers, newly-qualified apprentices, and industry partners.
Flexible and accessible training
The course, consisting of 11 bite-sized modules, covers essential topics such as air source heat pump types, refrigerants, electrical considerations, controls, and funding. It takes between two and three hours to complete, and participants can access it at their own pace, with the ability to revisit content even after completion.
Andrew Johnson, training director at Ideal Heating, highlighted the importance of accessible training: “We’re investing millions to re-skill the industry, and this on-demand format allows more people to access high-quality training without additional costs or scheduling issues.”
Developed with industry expertise
Produced in partnership with BPEC, a specialist provider of industry qualifications, this course offers immersive, interactive learning with built-in knowledge checks to ensure understanding. Participants can complete it in one sitting or break it up into sections, with an optional assessment at the end.
The course also serves as a stepping stone for those looking to further their training in heat pump installation. Installers can later progress to in-person courses that provide hands-on experience with Ideal’s Logic Air and HP290 models.
