NIBE exhaust air heat pumps win big at HVR Awards

NIBE’s latest exhaust air heat pump (EAHP), the propane-powered S735, has been named Heat Pump of the Year at the 2024 HVR Awards.

This recognition highlights the innovative design and efficiency of the S735, a perfect solution for densely populated flats and inner-city properties where traditional air or ground source heat pumps may not be suitable.

Recognition for innovation

The NIBE S735 is an intelligent, inverter-controlled EAHP with an integrated hot water heater, offering heating, hot water, and ventilation all in one package. It uses internal air from the property, removing the need for an outdoor unit, which helps to preserve building aesthetics and eliminate noise concerns.

With low internal sound levels of just 49dB(A), high seasonal performance, and low operating costs, the S735 is a highly efficient and compact option.

Paul Smith, managing director of NIBE, said:“We are delighted that NIBE’s S735 EAHP has been recognised at the HVR Awards.

“We see this technology as a crucial piece of the UK’s decarbonisation puzzle with the opportunity to move the greatest number of people away from fossil fuels in densely populated, multi-family buildings and high-rise developments.”

Supporting decarbonisation efforts

The S735 utilises low-GWP refrigerant Propane (R290) and is part of NIBE’s S-Series, equipped with advanced controls and smart home integration. The myUplink monitoring platform allows both installers and NIBE’s expert team to monitor performance and troubleshoot issues remotely, ensuring efficiency and reliability.

Paul added:”NIBE is at the forefront of the EAHP market, ready to support housebuilders and specifiers in realising the benefits of this technology, while offering free product training to installers looking to get involved in what is set to be a growing area of the heat pump sector.

“This is a timely award for NIBE as we are re-entering the merchant channel in order to make the brand accessible to a wider range of customers.”

A celebration of excellence at the HVR Awards

Paul Smith, who also presented to Castle Climate Control, who were highly commended for their work with NIBE’s F2050 air source heat pump.

“Nu-Heat, who we shared a table with, won Domestic Product of the Year for their underfloor heating solution, Nu-Deck. NIBE works closely with Nu-Heat on many joint projects; it’s great to see our fellow collaborators also achieving recognition for product innovation and excellence,” Paul said.
