This collaboration is set to make it easier for UK businesses to access solar and battery storage solutions, offering tailored financing options that can help companies reduce energy costs and meet their sustainability targets.
Under this agreement, Close Brothers Asset Finance has created a bespoke funding solution specifically for PowerGreen customers. This means that businesses looking to install solar panels or battery storage systems can now do so with flexible financing, allowing them to spread the cost over time rather than facing a large upfront investment.
Affordable and tailored energy solutions
Jonathan Plumb, commercial director at PowerGreen, emphasised the importance of this partnership: “Every business is different in terms of their energy requirements and budget, and working together with Close Brothers Asset Finance, we can offer affordable solar and battery storage solutions for commercial and industrial clients across the UK.
“Businesses are under increasing pressure to meet ESG deliverables, reduce energy costs, and meet government targets such as the 2027 carbon tariff. By installing their own dedicated solar system via either a rooftop or ground mount solar scheme they can benefit from a low-cost, dedicated, renewable energy supply.”
This partnership comes at a crucial time, as more businesses are feeling the heat to align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, while also navigating rising energy costs and looming government regulations. The ability to install renewable energy systems without a significant upfront expense could be a game-changer for many companies.
Jim Leamon, sales director at Close Brothers, highlighted the broader impact of the agreement: “Acting sustainably is an integral part of the Close Brothers Asset Finance strategy, culture, and purpose – to help the people and businesses of Britain thrive over the long term.
“The beauty of this agreement between PowerGreen and Close Brothers Asset Finance is it allows businesses access to the finance to realise their green energy ambitions, as well as the expertise to deliver them. Businesses can avoid a hefty upfront investment and spread the cost of paying for a commercial solar or battery storage installation instead.”
