Designed to educate professionals on refrigerant types and their impact on heat pump efficiency, the CPD offers valuable insights for those seeking to implement energy-efficient heating systems.
Comprehensive and accessible training
This concise CPD, ideal for lunchtime learning, begins with an overview of heat pump operation, covering the refrigerant cycle and key principles such as co-efficient of performance (COP) and global warming potential (GWP).
It explains the characteristics of synthetic and natural refrigerants and explores factors affecting system design when selecting different refrigerants.
The session also addresses the heating sector’s decarbonisation efforts, refrigerant phase-down regulations, and the future of refrigerants.
New refrigerants in the ECOMOD range
The CPD coincides with Ideal Heating Commercial’s expansion of its ECOMOD range of heat pumps to include natural refrigerants. These now feature models using R32 refrigerant as well as natural refrigerants R290 (ECOMOD 290HT) and R744 (ECOMOD CO2), which deliver high temperatures with ultra-low GWPs.
The CPD was officially launched at the BESA Annual Conference last month, where it was presented by Richard Brown, Ideal Heating Commercial head of specification. Brown highlighted the importance of refrigerant knowledge in designing sustainable and efficient heating systems.
