Held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, the ceremony is often dubbed ‘The Grammys for Entrepreneurship,’ celebrating founders and businesses shaping the future of the UK economy.

Recognising scale-up success

The Scale-Up Entrepreneur of the Year award honours leaders who have moved beyond the initial stages of business and are scaling their operations to drive economic growth, create jobs, and boost revenue.

Puredrive Energy’s recent achievements, including a licence to manufacture and distribute Duracell-branded energy storage products, played a key role in Mark’s win.

Since launching the Duracell Energy ecosystem in the UK eight months ago, Puredrive Energy has helped homeowners and businesses maximise energy savings and reduce carbon footprints.

The company has expanded its operations to international markets, including Benelux and South Africa, and grown its workforce to over 70 employees in 2024 alone.

Entrepreneurial leadership

Mark Millar expressed his gratitude for the recognition: “I’m incredibly honoured to receive this award, which reflects the exciting journey and growth path Puredrive Energy are currently embarked on.

“Entrepreneurship is about embracing challenges, driving innovation, and making a positive impact. This award is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our entire team.

“Together we’re building a market-leading sustainable solution that maximises homeowners’ energy savings, increases grid independency, and cuts household emissions.”

A celebration of entrepreneurship

Francesca James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, highlighted the calibre of this year’s nominees:
“Every year, I’m in awe of the entrepreneurs who come through our programme, and this year is no different.

“The Great British Entrepreneur Awards continues to receive thousands of applications annually, reflecting the incredible strength of entrepreneurship across the UK.

“This year’s winners collectively generate over £3 billion in turnover and employ over 20,000 people. These extraordinary individuals are not only transforming industries but also uplifting communities and inspiring the next generation of business leaders.”

Driving innovation in energy storage

Under Mark’s leadership, Puredrive Energy continues to innovate with products like the Dura5 solar storage battery, enabling homeowners to take control of energy use, reduce emissions, and save on electricity bills.

“With a growing global presence and a commitment to sustainable living, the company is helping shape a greener future.
