The project will be constructed on 6.2 hectares of class 3b agricultural grazing land and is estimated to deliver enough energy to the local grid to power 796 homes, whilst providing the farmer landowner with a guaranteed rental income for the next 25 years.
The ground-mounted design will utilise 198 racking tables which will hold approximately 12,000 modules. The design also allows for the land to be mixed-use so that the farmer has the option to graze sheep on the site while the solar project is live.
Roy Amner, director at TGC Renewables, said: “We are delighted that after detailed consultation with all interested parties, our planning team secured the full support of the Strategic Planning Committee for this development.”
