Cheryl Hiles, director, said: “Regen’s recent ‘Potential Energy: Potential Jobs’ report showed there are 10,000 people employed in the renewable energy sector in the south west but that there is potential to create 34,000 jobs by the end of the decade.
“Initiatives like the National Solar Centre are important to develop the local skills and expertise to make the most of the economic opportunities from the rapid growth in solar and other renewable energy. We are pleased that Greg Barker will be able to see this and other leading south west renewable energy initiatives in the marine and communities sector.”
