Danfoss to run free introductory heat pump course

Danfoss is inviting tradespeople who are new to the renewables sector to learn more about heat pumps at the company’s free ‘introduction to heat pumps’ course.

The first course is planned to take place on 22nd January 2014 at Danfoss’ School of Heat Pump Technology in Sheffield.

Completely free of charge, the HP1 course gives an introduction to heat pumps and is designed to equip attendees with a basic knowledge of heat pump technology, systems and applications.  The only eligibility criteria is that each delegate must be experienced in working for at least 12 months in the plumbing, heating or a related trade.

Chris Dale, director of Danfoss, said: “Our HP1 course gives delegates an understanding of heat pump system design and applications, equipping them with the knowledge to potentially develop their business further within the renewable energy sector.  It is aimed mainly at plumbers and heating engineers who may be looking to extend their skills and take advantage of the anticipated growth in renewable energy in 2014 and beyond.

“This is a great time to become a heat pump installer, with the Renewable Heat Incentive planned to be introduced for domestic users in the Spring, there are lucrative business opportunities arising in this area.”
