Gledhill is investing in a new 5,457 sq ft depot to meet increased demand for cylinders in the West Midlands.

Located just off junctions one and two of the M5 in Oldbury, the new depot replaces Gledhill’s Dudley depot.

Managing director, Jason Hobson, said: “This investment is part of our strategic approach to ensure that we can offer customers excellent geographical coverage and a prompt reliable service across both our standard ranges and bespoke cylinders.”

In other news, the company celebrated its staff retention record by handing out long service awards to six members of the team that have clocked up a combined 165 years service between them.

Technical support operative, Alan Fazakerley, has been given an engraved tankard to celebrate his 40 years at the company.

He said: “Gledhill has always been a great place to work that stays true to its family run approach and listens to staff, providing genuine opportunities for career development.

“In theory I could retire now but I love working here and it’s clear the company still values my skills and knowledge so I can’t envisage leaving any time soon.”

Alan was joined at the internal awards ceremony by five of his colleagues, who have each worked for Gledhill for 25 years. Long service awards were handed to Wayne Sanderson, Phil Neild, Pauline Miller, Neil Heed and Craig Dixon.

Awards were presented by Gledhill’s CEO Tricia Holland, who is granddaughter to original founder Norman Gledhill.

She said: “We’re delighted to congratulate Alan, Wayne, Phil, Pauline, Neil and Craig on their achievements and would like to thank them for their continuing contribution to Gledhill’s
