YouGen was set up in 2008 by Cathy Debenham to provide practical advice and answer questions from homeowners on energy efficiency and renewable energy.
YouGen has become a multi-award winning service attracting over 1,138,000 page views in 2014 and regularly featuring in national newspapers, television and the trade press.
Having run YouGen on a small budget and with few resources, Cathy recently decided it would thrive better as part of a larger organisation and approached the National Energy Foundation. Cathy will continue her involvement in YouGen as an advisor to NEF.
She said: “I am very pleased that YouGen has found a home at NEF. YouGen visitors will benefit from a vast wealth of expertise and knowledge within the Foundation, getting the same practical advice on an even wider range of energy-saving matters.”
