Offering heating, domestic hot water and cooling function, with a 175-litre domestic hot water cylinder, the WPL..ACS is an outdoor unit with a minimal footprint and extremely quiet operation.
Mark McManus, Stiebel Eltron UK managing director, said the business was delighted to be launching another MCS approved product into the UK market.
“The WPL..ACS is a first-class product which meets the usual high standards of Stiebel Eltron’s German efficiency and design. We are pricing this extremely competitively against other air source heat pumps on the market, and have ensured that the WPL..ACS is in line with UK price expectations.
“We believe that a number of factors will give us the edge in appealing to installers, builders and energy managers.
“The WPL..ACS will help to meet many challenges in new build eco-homes due to its simplicity and little need for maintenance. This is an easy to install and compact product which is perfect for domestic properties and particularly social housing organisations looking to retrofit properties with a maximum floor area of 160 square metres.”
Electrical and plumbing connections are made through the base and the WPL..ACS unit also comes with an electronic expansion valve to ensure optimum control of all internal processes. The unit operates between temperatures of -20oC and as high as 30oC, and also offers a cooling option.
Mr McManus added: “Unlike conventional boiler systems and other air source heat pumps, it also runs at very low noise levels. As an added bonus the specially designed silver top cover to the WPL..ACS protects against moss and sun damage.
“This is one of Stiebel Eltron’s most aesthetically pleasing products and although the quality of the technology is the key element, our customers also want a unit that will complement their property and not detract from their home environment.”
Mr McManus said the air source heat pump market is a key target for 2012.
“We are really pushing to increase our air source heat pump sales over the next 12 months and have been working closely with our research and development team in Germany to manufacture a range of quality products. Many more of our air source heat pumps will be MCS approved this year and launched specifically for the UK market.
“We are still hopeful that the Government will look to include Air Source Heat Pumps in the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), which would further reduce the payback time for customers.”
