The Green Electrician expands into South Wales

The Green Electrician has announced a new joint venture with Milford Haven Port Authority in Pembrokeshire with an aim to improve access to energy efficient technologies for homes and businesses throughout South Wales.

One of the business’ first tasks has been to install over £1.25 million of PV panels on port and port tenant buildings across Milford Docks, Pembroke Port and Cedar Court in Milford Haven.  The installation, which The Green Electrician says includes Wales’ single largest integrated roof top array on the Phoenix Bowl at Milford Docks, should reduce the port’s carbon emissions by the equivalent of taking over 57,000 cars off the road.

Commenting on the formation of The Green Electrician South Wales, Rupert Higgin, MD of The Green Electrician, said: “It’s an exciting time for the business to grow our presence in Wales and partner with such a respected authority.  Milford Haven Port is an ideal partner for the business as it is intrinsically linked with energy and this initial contract gives a great platform to extend the benefits of energy efficient technologies across the region.”

Alec Don, chief executive of Milford Haven Port, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity to extend the reach of renewable energy in South Wales.  The positive effect will be immediate with the creation of new jobs for the region and the installation of solar panels on our buildings which will significantly reduce our carbon footprint.

“The installation on the Phoenix Bowl at Milford Docks is a testament to the professionalism of The Green Electrician (South Wales) as this large and complicated installation was achieved on time and below budget.”
