SCIS Group’s recruitment drive to boost energy efficiency

SCIS Group is on a major recruitment drive to support its rapid growth in the sector.

Grant UK welcomes Jim Moody as Area Sales Manager for Central and Southern Scotland and Terry Townend as Area Sales Manager for the Midlands.

With ambitions to become the UK’s top energy efficiency installer, the company is looking to fill various roles nationwide due to substantial contract wins and rising demand for energy efficiency solutions.

From a humble beginning of 7 employees, SCIS Group has ballooned to over 200 in just six years and aims to triple its leadership and operative team.

The recruitment campaign will target roles such as insulation supervisors, technical monitoring inspectors, administrator managers, and 70 installers, including renewable engineers, technicians, and insulation installers. These positions will be available across the UK, including Devon, Liverpool, and Fareham.

Working closely with the Big 6 energy suppliers and having secured multimillion-pound funding for GBIS-eligible homes, SCIS Group is set to enhance energy efficiency for thousands across the Southwest and other regions in England and Wales.

Dynamic industry

Additionally, the company’s renewable energy division, Cotswold Energy Group, seeks experienced ASHP engineers and solar technicians keen to nurture talent for the renewable energy sector through extensive training and development opportunities.

This recruitment initiative allows individuals to join a burgeoning company with significant career advancement prospects. SCIS Group offers its employees a robust training programme, leading to qualifications like ACOPS and NVQ Level 3 in cavity wall insulation, alongside attractive benefits such as competitive salaries, bonuses, pension schemes, life insurance, and opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic industry.

Nic Gillanders, CEO, SCIS Group, comments: “We are excited to launch this recruitment drive as part of our growth strategy. As we continue to expand our operations and reach, building a skilled and dedicated workforce is essential.

“The UK is facing somewhat of an energy efficiency skills gap, but we are committed to addressing this by providing opportunities for individuals who share our passion for sustainability and innovation.

“By investing in talent and expertise, we can play a significant role in advancing energy efficiency initiatives and helping to create a more sustainable future.

Record year expected

“We’re encouraged by the fact that 2023 restored positive momentum in larger-scale installer activity, and projections for 2024 are stronger than they’ve ever been in the last three years.

“This is driven by a better understanding of ECO4 process requirements and the emphatic impact of the introduction of the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS), which offers additional widespread insulation offerings to new householders who do not qualify under ECO.

“We expect 2024 to be a record year, with better-developed funded schemes and a focus on new customer segments, including customers who will privately finance their own home energy efficiency improvements.”
