Carraro, who has been with SolarEdge since 2016, previously led the company’s efforts in Southern Europe, where he played a key role in expanding market share and enhancing brand recognition.
Carraro takes over from Alfred Karlstetter, who has served as general manager for Europe since 2015. Karlstetter, who is preparing for retirement in the next year and a half, will stay on during the transition period to oversee strategic initiatives and support Carraro.
Reflections on the role
Reflecting on his new role, Carraro stated, “I am thankful for the trust and opportunity given to me by management to expand my leadership to all of Europe. I also thank my Southern Europe team – their work and dedication over the years is an integral part of my achievement.
“Europe is one of the world’s largest solar markets and SolarEdge is ideally positioned to provide homeowners and businesses across the continent with a comprehensive portfolio of hardware and software solutions.”
Karlstetter added, “It has been a privilege to build the European business of SolarEdge and to expand the adoption of the company’s technology across Europe.
“SolarEdge is an outstanding company with outstanding technology, and I am confident that the European business activities will further expand, develop and thrive under the experienced leadership of Christian, who I had the pleasure of mentoring and working with over the years.”
