NIBE Akademi is one of a number of locations throughout the country where installers can access the Heat Training Grant (HTG), which contributes £500 towards the cost of a Level 3 LCL Awards installation course. So far, the Akademi has trained nearly 30 installers using the HTG. The manufacturer also provides free product specific training and service and maintenance courses.
The Department of Energy Security & Net Zero’s and Midlands Net Zero Hub’s visit was part of their review of the scheme; a chance to see HTG centres in action.
At the NIBE Akademi, installers benefit from training in excellent facilities on leading-edge technology. NIBE has a broad product range of both air and ground source heat pumps, giving engineers on their level 3 courses access to heat pumps for all types of domestic properties.
Cradle to grave service
Chris Easton, training and health and safety manager for NIBE, said: “We were delighted to host the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero and Midlands Net Zero Hub.
“We’re extremely proud of our training centre and ensuring installers leave here with the skills and knowledge to fit efficient NIBE heat pump systems. We offer a cradle to grave service under the NIBE Pro scheme, from assisting with achieving MCS certification and providing ongoing product training, to technical back-up and support throughout a heat pump installer’s career.
“We were pleased to see the HTG re-introduced, it provides a real incentive for plumbing and heating engineers looking to make the move into heat pumps. It’s a rapidly growing marketplace and there’s plenty of opportunity for suitably trained installers.
“By using the HTG at NIBE, installers can also benefit from the added extras of becoming a NIBE Pro, which includes marketing tools, leads and extended warranties on our products.”
