Michael Collinge has joined as head of technical, Julia Morris as head of consumer services, and Jo Johnson as business solutions manager.
Michael brings a wealth of experience across renewables technologies, including a long career with NAPIT and technical consultancy roles with City & Guilds and EAL.
Julia’s background in consumer lending will enhance both Flexi-Orb and its sister scheme, the Energy Performance Validation Scheme (EPVS). Jo brings expertise from compliance-led organisations and will focus on building strong relationships with installers and stakeholders.
Preparing for sector growth
David Lindsay, managing director of Certi-fi Schemes, said:“Flexi-Orb is now entering a period of growth and further development. We already offer domestic installation technologies of solar photovoltaics, electrical energy storage systems and electric vehicle charge points and are looking to add heat pumps in the near future.
“It was key for us to attract people who are the very best at what they do. I couldn’t be more delighted with the start that they’ve all made.
“Jo, Julia and Michael join recent recruits, Mark Nelson and James Livingstone – both of whom we were able to attract from their previous positions at UKAS to increase our certification competency – and together they’ve already demonstrated that they will be a strong and innovative senior leadership team.
“But it’s not all been about recruiting the best talent. Matt Hopkins and Mike Buhagiar have been recent internal promotions, and we’re very proud to be heading for a sixth successive year of zero employee turnover.

Supporting net-zero ambitions
The government’s mandate for all homes with an EPC rating of D or below to retrofit energy-efficient measures by 2030 is driving demand for certified renewable installations.
Flexi-Orb aims to support installers in addressing this need, with over 17 million homes in the UK requiring upgrades to meet net-zero targets.
