Class act: Greg Jackson inspires students on renewable energy

Just days after his appearance on BBC’s Question Time, Octopus Energy founder Greg Jackson brought his passion for renewable energy to classrooms across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Thousands of students, from primary to secondary school, participated in interactive virtual sessions to learn about sustainability, climate change, and the future of renewable energy.

Inspiring the next generation of green heroes

Greg Jackson, who left school at 16 before studying economics at Cambridge, led discussions on renewable energy sources, the grid, energy efficiency, and how schools can work toward net zero goals.

Alongside interactive activities, quizzes, and prizes, the sessions aimed to inspire curiosity and creativity among students.

Greg Jackson explained the importance of the lessons: “Climate change is the biggest challenge of our lifetime, and it requires more than one generation to tackle it.

“I’ve seen young people consistently come up with innovative solutions to problems that previous generations have grappled with.

“With these lessons, we aim to spark curiosity and show how they can drive the change we need.”
